The doctor is down to earth and very, very caring. She listens and shows a lot of concern for the patient's well being and tries to alleviate any worries the patient might have. She goes out of her way to be available to the patient if they have any questions or problems.

So impressed with Dr Duckworth. I was her last patient for the day and I have a feeling she stayed later than she was Intending to. She was the first dr I spoke to since my current diagnosis (transferred from another cancer center) and she was so thorough, thoughtful and caring. She wrote everything down for me so I could take the notes home. She patiently answered my many questions and gave me her phone number for the future. I know I am in great hands now and am so happy I switched to her.

I have wanted to share what I think of Dr Duckworth for a while now. A cancer diagnosis is never good but having Dr Duckworth as my surgeon made it memorable in a positive way. She is the most caring accessible capable surgeon that I have ever dealt with. And even if she is the only breast surgeon I have ever dealt with I feel absolutely BLESSED to have her as my dr. In fact my whole experience with Hartford Healthcare during this journey as excellent. However Dr Duckworth stands out. Please continue to maintain your high professional but caring working environment for your employees. Your patients like me are greatly appreciative.

Bio

Dr. April Duckworth is a breast oncology surgeon at the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Dr. Duckworth completed a fellowship in breast surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, and specializes in all aspects of breast surgery for benign breast disease and breast cancer.

She earned her medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed her residency in general surgery at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn. She completed a research year at the New York University Institute of Research in Plastic Surgery.
