The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a variety of health screenings throughout the year at our Bradley Memorial and New Britain General campuses, as well as other locations throughout the community.
Appointments are necessary for health screenings.
Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, and Glucose
These screenings are primarily for adults who have never had these conditions checked or have made a significant lifestyle change to impact their health.
Results are available for the individual's personal physician but the screening is not intended to take the place of the physician's regular care or treatment plan. Educational materials about cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose levels will be provided.
Bone Density & Osteoporosis
A quick and painless health screening for osteoporosis. Preliminary results will be provided at the time of the test, with information on calcium, vitamin D, bone loss prevention and research trial opportunities.
Heel Ultrasound
A non-invasive test that evaluates bone in the heel of the foot. This is test is appropriate for patients over age 65 and/or those with:
- A History of Broken Bones
- Menopause
- Peri-menopausal with Menopausal Symptoms
- Long-term History of Steroid Use (i.e. Prednisone)
- Long Absence of Menstrual Periods (Amenorrhea)
