Admitting

Upon entering one of The Hospital of Central Connecticut's locations, patients will be directed to the appropriate department by our knowledgeable staff. We ask them to follow a few admissions procedures to ensure the process runs smoothly.

Bradley Memorial Campus Hours

  • 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • At other times, admissions are handled through the emergency department: 860.276.5200

  • 7:30 AM to Noon, Saturday

Outpatient Orders

To expedite outpatient orders (lab slips, etc.) at outpatient testing area, located off lobby behind Information Desk, practices are asked to:

  • Write Legible Orders With Diagnosis Indicated; Include Signature From The Ordering Physician
  • Inform Patients That Specimen Drop-Offs Must be Registered; Patient Needs to Check in at The Outpatient Test Center to Register The Specimen For Drop Off
  • Notify Admitting (860.224.5127) if Sending a Patient For a Blood Transfusion, IV Medications or For Pre-Surgery Testing Not Previously Scheduled
  • Ask Patients to Bring Two Forms of Identification, Including a Photo ID, and Insurance Card; This Ensures Compliance With Red Flag Regulations Designed to Protect Patients Against Identity Theft

Admissions

For admitting purposes, patients should bring the following:

  • Insurance Card
  • Photo ID - Driver's License, Passport or Other Form of Photo Identification
  • Prescription Medications
  • For Inpatient and Ambulatory Procedures: A List of Any Other-The-Counter Medications, as Well as Any Vitamins, Supplements or Herbal Products You Are Taking
  • Glasses, Dentures, Hearing Aids, and Any Other Assistive Devices You Use

Patients should not bring:

  • Cash
  • Extra Clothes, Toiletries, Etc. (Your visitors can bring pajamas, robes, toiletries and other items to you after admission).
  • Valuables: Jewelery, Electronic Devices, Etc.
