The Pre-Op Interview (New Britain General Campus)

One to three days before your procedure, a nurse will conduct a phone interview with you. Please have handy a list of all current medications, including dosages, and any pertinent medical or surgical history.

You may designate a family member to give this information. The 10- to 15-minute pre-op interview is conducted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Arrival times cannot be given until the day before your procedure due to last-minute schedule changes. The interview nurse will give your arrival time or tell you how to obtain that information. Arrival times vary between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Pre-admission Testing Appointment (Bradley Memorial Campus)

Prior to surgery, the Bradley Memorial Campus Admitting Department will contact you to schedule a Pre-admission Testing Appointment. Depending on the tests your doctor has ordered, you may be required to come to the hospital for certain testing, or be scheduled for a telephone interview with the Pre-admission Testing nurse.

Please have handy a list of all current medications, including dosages, and any pertinent medical or surgical history. You may designate a family member to give this information.
Arrival times cannot be given until the day before your procedure due to last-minute schedule changes. You will be asked to contact the Ambulatory Surgery Unit after 11 a.m. the day before surgery. ASU nurses will give you your arrival time and review pre-op instructions with you. Arrival times vary between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.
