Specializing in cardiac care for women.
Recognizing the prevalence of heart disease in women, The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) opened a Women’s Heart Wellness Center in 2013 under the direction of Heather Swales, M.D., FACC. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, personalized and compassionate care to women at risk for, and those living with, heart disease. During a patient’s initial visit to the center with a board-certified cardiologist, she will receive a gender-specific risk factor screening to address cardiac risk factors specific to women, symptom assessment and a physical exam with a personalized management plan. The Women’s Heart Wellness Center places a strong emphasis on patient education and wellness. A physician referral is not necessary.
