August 15, 2024
Becker’s Hospital Review included Hartford Hospital on its latest list of “Great Hospitals in America.”
Hospitals on the list are known for top-tier clinical work, a deep commitment to patient safety, innovative advancements, in-depth research, educational excellence and high levels of patient satisfaction. Leading ranking and award agencies have honored the top 100 hospitals as industry leaders and exceptional performance across various specialties.
Hartford Hospital was cited as one of two leading transplant centers in the nation and operator of the state’s first air ambulance system, LIFE STAR. The Becker’s review recognized the hospital’s designation as a Mitral Valve Repair Reference Center by the American Heart Association and Mitral Foundation for the fourth year in a row. The list mentions Hartford Hospital’s recognition by U.S. News & World Report as No. 1 in the Metro Hartford Area and “high performing” in orthopedics and urology in its 2024-2025 Best Hospitals list. The hospital also ranked “high performing” in 13 conditions and procedures. In addition, Becker’s noted the hospital’s “A” safety rating from the Leapfrog Group and 5-star ratings across multiple treatments and specialties by Healthgrades.
“We are honored to be named one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s ‘Great Hospitals in America.’ This recognition reflects the tireless dedication of our entire team to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing healthcare innovation,” said Cheryl Ficara, RN, MS, president of Hartford Hospital and senior vice president of Hartford HealthCare. “Our entire team is focused on pushing the boundaries of healthcare to provide our patients with the highest level of care and support.”
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team chose hospitals based on analyses of recent achievements including ranking and ratings such as U.S. News & World Report rankings, Healthgrades awards, CMS star ratings and the Leapfrog Group safety grades. Nominations were also accepted.
