Visiting Hours

Visitors are welcome at The Hospital of Central Connecticut!

Visiting HoursStaff will work with you to ensure visits don’t interfere with the care of your loved one or roommate if there is one.


General Visiting Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily.


The following restrictions will be followed by area:

  • ED: 24/7
  • ICU: Two visitors during visiting hours
  • Ambulatory/Outpatient: Escorts allowed
  • Labor & Delivery: Mother can communicate wishes to her care team in terms of escort/visitors. See more information about Labor & Delivery/Maternity.  Visiting hours are 24 hours a day for up to 2 people to provide physical and emotional support. Operating rooms are restricted to 1 support person. The 2 support visitors that the patient decides on admission will be the only two allowed for their labor and delivery stay.  
  • Family Birthplace: Visiting hours are between 10am-8pm and allow for up to 3 visitors at a time. The banded support person may visit anytime 24/7. Siblings of the baby can visit with adult supervision during normal visiting hours. 
  • NICU: 2 Banded support people may visit 24/7. NICU visitation is limited to 2 visitors per baby (one designated caregiver with a hospital ID bracelet accompanied by 1 pre-identified additional visitor). 
  • CMO/End of life: Exceptions may be made for patients as necessary in coordination with hospital leadership
  • Inpatient Behavioral Health: One visitor per patient.
    • Everyday Visitation: 12:30PM-1:30PM and 5:30PM-6:30PM

*Exceptions may be made at the discretion of hospital leadership.


Additional restrictions/information:

  • Visitors are required to provide proof of valid government-issue ID to enter.
  • Visitors with a cold, flu or COVID will NOT be allowed to visit the hospital.
  • Visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the hospital and maintain social distancing.
  • Visitors are asked to be considerate of time spent during visits in semi-private rooms.
  • If a patient with a cognitive impairment or disability requires assistance and the hospital cannot otherwise provide, one consistent support person may be permitted to assist in accessing care at all times.
  • If nursing staff deems it clinically/psychologically beneficial, one visitor may stay with any patient for support.

ATTENTION PATIENTS & VISITORS

For the safety of our patients and colleagues with allergies, latex balloons are not allowed in the hospital. Mylar balloons are acceptable.

Flowers are not allowed in some areas of the hospital. Please check with our staff prior to bringing flowers to a patient or having them delivered.
