What attracted you to HOCC? I first started working at HOCC as a pharmacy intern in 2021 and have come to love the staff here. Since I come from a small town and a small college, HOCC was the perfect size hospital for me to still be exposed to a variety of rotations while making close connections to the staff here. All of the pharmacists here have been great mentors to me in my last few years of pharmacy school and I wanted to continue building those connections at HOCC and the other HHC sites.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy traveling (especially to Rhode Island), playing board games, binge-watching TV shows, making crafts with my Cricut, and taking naps.

Research Project: Desmopressin Efficacy and Safety in Traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage Patients on P2Y12 Inhibitor Antiplatelet Therapy.

MUE Topic: Vancomycin AUC Dosing.

CE Topic: Drug Shortages, How to Manage Them, and Global Supply Chain.

What attracted you to HOCC? I really enjoyed my experiences within the Hartford Healthcare system including an IPPE health systems rotation at St. Vincent's Medical Center, an APPE ambulatory care rotation at Hartford Hospital, and intern experience at Backus Hospital's anticoagulation clinic. These environments cultivated a sense of belonging and teamwork that I wanted to continue being a part of post-graduation. HOCC is a medium sized hospital within the Hartford Healthcare system located in central CT and seemed like the perfect place to continue my journey to becoming a board-certified clinical pharmacist. All the pharmacists and technicians are very welcoming and create a positive work environment.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy training and teaching in the martial arts reading fantasy romance novels and hanging out with my three Siberian cats.

Research Project: Efficacy of direct oral anticoagulants compared to warfarin in the prevention of ischemic stroke or venous thromboembolism among patients receiving concomitant enzyme inducing antiepileptic therapy.

MUE Topic: Evaluate compliance with anticoagulation holds/restarts based on the HHC anticoagulation policy.

CE Topic: How to perform medication reconciliation upon hospital admission and discharge to prevent serious adverse drug events.
