Translation Services
Translation Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through hospital volunteers or CyraPhone™ equipment, located throughout both campuses. Two other CyraPhone systems are available as required for use in any area of the hospital. Any patient needing to discuss healthcare issues through a translator should ask their healthcare provider for translation service assistance.
Assistance for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Patients
To ensure effective communication with patients and their companions who are deaf or hearing impaired, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides, for free:
- Sign Language and Oral Interpreters
- TTYs
- Note-Takers and Computer-Assisted Real Time Transcription Services
- Written Materials
- Telephone Handset Amplifiers and Hearing Aid-Compatible Phones
- Assistive Listening Devices and Systems
- Other Programs/Devices
